Wedding Planner Desk Privacy Policy

Wedding Planner Desk (the “App”) is a desktop application provided by Mark Muya, doing business as BusinessKit Lab (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how the App accesses, uses, stores, and shares information.

1. Information processed by the App

The App may process information entered by the user, including:

• business and planner information;
• prospective-client and couple names, email addresses, phone numbers, wedding dates, venues, notes, and package selections;
• quotations, change orders, billing records, payments, tasks, schedules, and cancellation or postponement information;
• vendor and supplier names, contact details, quotations, contract and payment statuses, and communication notes;
• logos, document-template settings, preferences, and other content supplied by the user.

The user is responsible for having an appropriate lawful basis and permission to enter, store, and use personal information concerning clients, representatives, vendors, employees, and other individuals.

2. Local storage

Wedding Planner Desk is designed as a local, offline-first application. App data is stored on the user’s computer in the App’s local application-data directory. We do not operate a central Wedding Planner Desk database and do not automatically receive a copy of the user’s wedding-planning records.

Anyone with access to the user’s computer or operating-system account may potentially access locally stored App data. Users should protect their computers with passwords, device encryption, current security updates, and appropriate backups.

3. Optional Google account connection

Connecting a Google account is optional. If the user chooses to connect Google, the App uses Google OAuth to request only the permissions needed for the features selected by the user.

The App currently requests access to:

• identify and display the connected Google account email address;
• store and retrieve the App’s private synchronization file in Google Drive application data;
• create and manage only the visible Google Drive files and folders created or selected through the App, including billing PDFs;
• create and update wedding dates and dated planning tasks in Google Calendar.

The App does not request access to read the user’s Gmail messages and does not send email through the Gmail API. When the App prepares an email, it opens the user’s chosen email application for review and sending.

Google OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored locally on the user’s computer so the App can maintain the authorized connection. Users may disconnect Google within the App and may also revoke access through their Google Account security settings.

4. Automatic synchronization

When Google synchronization is enabled, the App uploads an encrypted-in-transit synchronization file to the connected user’s private Google Drive application-data area. Other computers signed in to the App with the same Google account may download that file to synchronize App data.

Local changes are normally uploaded after a short delay, and connected computers periodically check for newer data. If changes overlap, the most recently saved version may replace an earlier version. Users should avoid editing the same wedding record simultaneously on multiple computers and should maintain independent backups of important information.

We do not receive or inspect the synchronization file. Its storage, availability, and security are also subject to the user’s Google account settings and Google’s terms and privacy practices.

5. Billing PDFs and sharing

The App can generate billing PDFs locally and save them in visible folders created by the App in the user’s Google Drive. At the user’s direction, the App may grant read access to the client representative’s specified email address and prepare an email containing the Drive link.

The user controls the recipient address, the contents of the billing document, and whether the prepared email is ultimately sent. Users should verify recipient addresses and document contents before sharing them.

6. How information is used

Information is used only to provide and improve user-facing App functions, including wedding planning, quotations, billing, vendor coordination, task scheduling, document generation, backups, synchronization, and Calendar integration.

We do not sell Google user data or App business data. We do not use it for advertising, credit decisions, data-broker services, or training generalized artificial-intelligence models. We do not permit employees or contractors to read Google user data except when the user gives specific consent for support, when necessary to investigate security or abuse, or when required by law.

Wedding Planner Desk’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

7. Sharing and third-party services

Information may be disclosed only:

• to Google when the user enables Google OAuth, Drive, or Calendar features;
• to a client representative or another recipient specifically selected by the user;
• when the user exports, backs up, emails, prints, or otherwise shares information;
• when required to comply with applicable law or protect users, the public, or our legal rights;
• in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of the App business, subject to applicable notice and consent requirements.

Google’s handling of information is governed by Google’s own privacy policy and account controls. The user’s email provider, operating system, Etsy, and other third-party services have their own terms and privacy practices.

8. Data retention and deletion

Local App data remains on the user’s computer until the user deletes records, resets the App, uninstalls it and removes its application-data files, or deletes the operating-system account containing it.

Google synchronization data and billing PDFs remain in the user’s Google Drive until deleted by the user or the App. Disconnecting Google stops future access but may not automatically delete files already stored in Drive. Calendar events created by the App may remain in Google Calendar until the user deletes them.

To remove Google access, use Settings > Disconnect in the App and, if desired, revoke Wedding Planner Desk under the Google Account’s third-party access settings.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical measures appropriate to a local desktop application, including Google OAuth authorization and encrypted HTTPS connections to Google services. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Users remain responsible for device security, Google account security, recipient selection, and maintaining backups.

10. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for professional wedding planners and other business users. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through a developer-operated service.

11. International use and privacy rights

Privacy rights vary by location. Because the user controls the locally stored and Google-synchronized business records, requests from a couple, vendor, or other data subject should generally be directed to the wedding planner who entered the information. Users must comply with privacy, consumer-protection, record-retention, and breach-notification laws applicable to their business.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, applicable law, or third-party services change. The updated policy will display a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated through the App, product page, website, or another reasonable method.
